Dan graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1970, going on to work for American Greetings. He stayed there for 37 years, creating illustrations for greeting cards. Though exclusively an illustrator, his personal work grew to include printmaking, ceramics, papermaking, and woodworking. He continues to work in a wide variety of mediums – choosing the one that best helps him to express a particular image, thought, or emotion. Dan resides in Canton, Ohio, with his wife in one of the few houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. He enjoys his short walks through his garden and wooded area to his creative studios. These walks inspire him to create, sometimes causing him to begin sketching before he even reaches his studio.
