| Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bernard McDonald began his education at Columbus College of Art and Design. Of his work he states,” the title Table refers to the Last Supper Table. It is one of a series which grew out of studies I did in the summer of 1972 from Caravaggio’s Supper at Emmaus. Although the studies encouraged the Table series, the drawings eventually were done from a still-life setup in my studio”.
My concerns are with the object and its relationships with other objects and its environment: the object as object/physical presence, the object as image and idea. I am always concerned with composition: calculated, structured manipulation”.
