This ceramic form has been created by throwing the clay on the potter’s wheel. The surface has been glazed and the object fired to a stoneware state. In Frank Susi’s words: “Pots can provide an aesthetic experience and they can be a functional object. I do not prefer one over the other. The process is exciting. I don’t care much for exotic techniques rather my best work employs production pottery forms and glazing techniques. Making pots lend fulfillment to my life and hopefully to the lives of others”. Susi was the Director of the Art Education Department at Kent State University and currently creates his magic with clay at the Canton Museum of Art.
