Spinosa’s "Dog of Sorrow" is a three dimensional portrait of himself in the form of his dog. Instead of using a human form, he finds the animal form to be more relatable to those viewing his artwork. To him, animals are a more accessible vehicle of emotion. Not only does the title of this piece convey a particular emotion, but the body language of the dog does as well.
