Richard Schneider gave us the following statement about his work. “In 1982 I became interested in communicating some of my ideas using universal symbols such as the circle, the square, the triangle, the chevron, the spiral, etc. Most people understand symbols such as these I feel. Certain past civilizations such as the Egyptians, Greeks and Native Americans dealt with this concept quite successfully. So, I studied their components of design and how it was utilized to convey whatever message was to be communicated. During this time, I took a trip out West to New Mexico and saw a tremendous amount of Native American weaving and pottery both past and present. After this trip I found I began to work in a whole new way”
