In 1986, Raffael moved to France, where he maintains a very large garden full of all manners of birds, plants, flowers, trees, and water features. "Night Sky Fish" depicts the koi fish from the pond in Raffael's garden. In fact, most of Raffael's work finds its inspiration from his garden.
