Corning’s watercolor depicts an Amish garden in Sugar Creek in Canton, Ohio. Though Corning lived in Solvang, California, he was in Ohio in 1989 for an exhibit of his work here at the Canton Museum of Art titled "Gameday." While visiting, he stopped with museum staff to see some sights of Ohio that he found captivating for his future paintings, such as this Amish Garden.
